Bleeker have shared another taste of their upcoming album ELEPHANT, releasing new single ‘Outside’ ahead of the record’s arrival on September 4th via Known Accomplice.
The new track follows previously released singles ‘Great Unknown’, ‘Something On You’ and the album’s title track, continuing the band’s rollout towards their fifth full length release. According to the band, ‘Outside’ centres on themes of forgiveness, connection and accepting your own flaws, offering another look at the more personal side of ELEPHANT.
Speaking about the song, vocalist Taylor Perkins explained: ”‘Outside’ is a bit of a metaphor song for forgiveness, connection and just finding your way back home. Another theme we tend to come back to often is knowing and accepting our own faults. Nobody is perfect and we’re not fans of this notion popularised on social media that perfection is valuable or something to strive for. Maybe we see flaws as character and we don’t see any problems with asking for a little help, or for someone to light the way like in this one.”
The release continues a strong run for the Canadian rock outfit, who have amassed more than 57 million global streams and built momentum through recent releases including Messed Up and the Fuck You I’m Leaving EP. Their track ‘Let’s Go’ also found a huge audience after featuring throughout the NHL Playoffs, EA Sports’ NHL 25, and UEFA European Championship broadcasts.
ELEPHANT arrives on September 4th via Known Accomplice and features 12 tracks, including ‘Outside’, ‘Great Unknown’, ‘Something On You’ and the title track. If the latest single is anything to go by, Bleeker are heading into their next chapter with plenty of confidence while keeping the focus firmly on honest songwriting.
