Southern California post hardcore favourites Movements have shared their new single “Separate”, the latest preview of their upcoming fourth album Happier Now, which arrives on 4 September via Fearless Records. The band have also released an accompanying music video, giving fans another look at what to expect from the record ahead of its release.
“Separate” closes the album and arrives just weeks before Happier Now lands. While previous singles have introduced different sides of the record, this latest track comes from one of the most difficult periods of the album’s creation, with frontman Patrick Miranda revealing it was written at a point where he questioned whether he had anything left to give creatively.
Speaking about the song, Miranda explained: “Separate is about a turning point I experienced during the writing of this album. Between creative friction, internal and intrapersonal struggles, and the weight of needing to create something that felt meaningful, the stress of it all hit me hard. I felt like I had nothing more to offer in that moment. Instead of fighting it, I withdrew.”
He added that the song reflects feeling so overwhelmed that stepping away seems easier than confronting the situation, making it one of the album’s most personal moments.

Happier Now arrives on 4th September through Fearless Records and features 12 tracks, including “Pulse”, “Everything Is Fine”, “Spellbound” and the title track. Following the album’s release, Movements will head out on a major US headline tour this October and November, joined by Balance and Composure, Midrift and NIIS.
