August Burns Red are back with a big one. The metalcore heavyweights have announced their new album Season Of Surrender, set to drop June 5 via Fearless Records, marking a return to the label and the start of a new chapter for the band.
Alongside the announcement, they’ve also shared new single “The Nameless,” and it’s exactly what you’d expect. Fast, technical, and relentless from start to finish. It’s a track that leans into everything ABR do best, packed with tight rhythms, dark guitar work, and zero breathing room.
Speaking on the track, bassist Dustin Davidson described it as “a hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn’t let up for one moment,” while vocalist Jake Luhrs explained the message sits around breaking away from comfort and expectation to actually live on your own terms.
It’s a strong first look at Season Of Surrender, which also brings in features from Mike Hranica, Jamie Hails, and Make Them Suffer, showing they’re not holding back with this one.
Over two decades in, August Burns Red have already built a legacy with multiple Billboard top 10 releases, Grammy nominations, and hundreds of millions of streams. But they’ve never really stayed in one place, and this new era looks like another step forward.
To keep things moving, the band will also hit the road this spring on a co-headline run with The Amity Affliction, kicking off in April.
“The Nameless” is out now, and if this is anything to go by, Season Of Surrender is shaping up to be another huge release.
