Mylo Bybee Push Forward With Their Most Expansive Release Yet

Mylo Bybee have released their new EP Revisions and it feels like a defining moment for the Boise alt rock band. Out now via Gold Ship Records, the project captures a group widening their sound while leaning further into the emotional storytelling that’s been building across their recent singles.

At the centre of the EP is I Wish You Well, a sweeping track that highlights the band’s shift toward something more cinematic without losing the melodic core that’s made them stand out. The song follows earlier single Time Machine and helps frame Revisions as a collection built around reflection, growth and the aftershocks of major life moments.

Frontman Tyler Schlagenhauf drew heavily from his time living off the grid on St. Lawrence Island in Alaska, a period that shaped the emotional weight running through the record. The isolation, clarity and perspective from those years feed directly into I Wish You Well, giving the song a sense of space that mirrors its themes.

That balance between intimacy and scale runs across the EP. Revisions doesn’t abandon the dynamic energy that introduced Mylo Bybee to listeners, but it does show a band becoming more confident in slowing things down, sitting in moments and building atmosphere around their songwriting.

The response from critics suggests that evolution is landing. Comparisons to Death Cab for Cutie, Manchester Orchestra and Modest Mouse place the band firmly within the modern alternative rock conversation while still recognising the individuality in their approach. There’s a clear sense that Mylo Bybee aren’t just referencing the genre’s past, they’re carving out their own version of it.

Since forming in 2020, the band have steadily grown their reputation through emotionally driven releases and strong live shows, helping put Boise’s indie scene on the radar. With Revisions now out, that momentum continues, starting with an EP release show at TRICA and a return to Treefort Music Fest shortly after.

Revisions feels less like a checkpoint and more like a step forward. A band refining their voice, stretching their sound and building something that looks set to carry into whatever comes next.
