Seahaven Are Back in Their Feelings and Long Goodbye Hits Hard

If you’ve ever put a song on and instantly felt like it understood you a little too well, Seahaven’s new single Long Goodbye is very much that kind of track. The Torrance, California band have returned with a song that doesn’t rush, doesn’t over explain, and doesn’t try to tidy up the mess that comes with complicated relationships. Instead, it sits right in that uncomfortable space where guilt, relief, regret and acceptance all exist at once.

Seahaven – Long Goodbye

Mixed by Will Yip, Long Goodbye feels deliberate and heavy in the best way. It’s reflective without being dramatic, emotional without shouting for attention. Seahaven have always been good at letting atmosphere do the talking, and this track leans into that strength. It’s the sound of a band that knows exactly who they are and isn’t interested in forcing anything that doesn’t feel real.

For longtime fans, this release feels especially meaningful. Seahaven’s journey hasn’t exactly been straightforward. After the early buzz around Winter Forever and the late night escapism of Reverie Lagoon, things went quiet for a while. The gaps between releases, the uncertainty, the feeling that maybe the story was over. Even the band themselves have been open about how close it came to ending. That context gives Long Goodbye a little extra weight. It doesn’t feel like a comeback for the sake of it. It feels like a continuation that’s been earned.

That sense of honesty carried through Halo of Hurt, their 2020 album that marked a real turning point. Astral, eerie and introspective, it felt like Seahaven reconnecting with the reason they started in the first place. The recently released reimagined versions of I Don’t Belong Here and Harbor only reinforced that, stripping things back and letting vulnerability take centre stage. Long Goodbye fits neatly into that chapter, expanding on the emotional palette rather than rewriting it.

There’s also something quietly reassuring about how grounded Seahaven feel right now. They’re not chasing trends or trying to relive the past. They’re writing music that reflects where they are, both as individuals and as a band that’s been through its fair share. You can hear that lived in quality all over this track. It’s patient, thoughtful, and confident enough to let moments breathe.

Alongside the new single, Seahaven have announced a North American winter run and, for UK fans, a spring tour that marks their first visit in over a decade. It’s the kind of news that feels surreal if you’ve been following them since the early 2010s. Seeing those dates appear again feels like a full circle moment, not just for the band but for the fans who stuck around during the quieter years.

Long Goodbye doesn’t try to tie everything up neatly. It doesn’t pretend that endings are easy or that closure is always clean. Instead, it offers something far more relatable. A song that understands that sometimes all you can do is sit with the feeling and let it pass. And honestly, that’s where Seahaven have always done their best work.
