Pray, Scream, Repeat: I Prevail Unleash Violent Nature

I Prevail are back and louder than ever, and they’re not pulling any punches this time. The two-time GRAMMY-nominated band have officially dropped their fourth album Violent Nature via Fearless Records, and it’s already feeling like a career-defining moment. Alongside the record comes a brand-new video for “Pray,” one of the most intense and emotionally charged songs on the album.

I Prevail – PRAY

From the second it starts, “Pray” tricks you with this calm, acoustic opening before tearing the rug out and throwing you headfirst into a storm of soaring choruses and crushing heaviness. It’s raw, it’s vulnerable, and it’s everything fans love about I Prevail packed into one track. Frontman Eric Vanlerberghe puts it best: the song is about being burned by someone close, only to have them feel sorry for you. Instead of wallowing, it’s about letting go, cutting ties, and realising you’re better off without them.

And that’s kind of the whole spirit of Violent Nature. This record feels like a rebirth. Vanlerberghe takes full command of the mic, handling both clean and unclean vocals in a way that feels bolder and more direct than ever. Tracks like “Into Hell,” “Rain,” and the monstrous title track show a band that’s not afraid to get heavier, catchier, and more personal all at once. It’s also the first time the band completely produced the record themselves, with bassist Jon Eberhard at the helm, which makes it feel even more authentic. No outside voices, no extra hands—just I Prevail doing what they do best.

If you’ve been following the band since Lifelines, you’ll know they’ve already got gold records and GRAMMY nods under their belt, but Violent Nature feels like the moment they’ve fully arrived as one of the biggest forces in modern heavy music. As Metal Hammer put it, this isn’t a band on the rise anymore—it’s a band leading the charge.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see these songs live either. I Prevail are hitting major US festivals including Louder Than Life in Kentucky and When We Were Young in Las Vegas this fall. If you’re keen to experience Violent Nature in the flesh, keep an eye on their socials for ticket info—you’re going to want to be there.

Whether you’ve been riding with I Prevail since the Lifelines days or you’re just jumping in now, Violent Nature is the kind of record that reminds you why this band has become such a staple in the scene. It’s heavy, it’s heartfelt, and it proves once again that I Prevail aren’t just surviving in this genre—they’re shaping its future.
