Chicago’s Rematch just dropped the kind of track that demands to be blasted with the windows down. “6SPEED” is out Ju, and it’s everything a summer pop-punk anthem should be — fast, catchy, and packing an emotional punch under all the bounce.
It’s the band’s second release with new vocalist Matt LeGrand, and if “Double Tap” gave us a taste, “6SPEED” cements that this new era of Rematch is full throttle. The track channels that familiar mix of “I’m not okay but I’ll scream it with a smile,” and they’ve nailed it. According to the band, “6SPEED” is “a cry for help in the form of a pop punk summer anthem” — think fear of success meets the anxiety that comes with chasing it, all wrapped up in gang vocals and riffs that hit like energy drinks.
The band isn’t just dropping new music — they’re hitting the road this summer with Eternal Boy. From Cincinnati to D.C., they’re tearing up venues across the Midwest and East Coast starting July 31. If you’ve ever yelled Neck Deep lyrics into a bathroom mirror or had Fall Out Boy on repeat during a breakdown, trust us — you’ll want to be in the pit for this.

Rematch have been carving out their space in the scene for a while now, and with a full-length album on the horizon (produced by the same guy who’s worked with Silverstein and Bearings, no less), they’re clearly not slowing down. “6SPEED” is just the beginning.
