Belmont are kicking things up a gear. The Chicago trio just announced their brand new EP Last To Love, dropping September 4th via Pure Noise Records—and if the first single “Live A Lie” is anything to go by, we’re in for a wild ride.
This isn’t just a new chapter, it’s a full-blown evolution. “We wanted to push the boundaries of the current state of music,” the band said, and that energy rips through “Live A Lie.” It’s sharp, anthemic, and brings back that early pop-punk spark—but with all the technical wizardry and shreddy chaos that makes Belmont, well… Belmont.
It’s refreshing to see a band this deep into their discography still swinging for something new while honouring their roots. After last year’s Liminal, which experimented with heavier sounds and genre fusion, this EP feels like a reset with a purpose—a reminder of where they came from, and how far they’ve taken it.
Formed back in 2014 by a bunch of high school friends, Belmont broke out fast with their Between You & Me EP and self-titled debut. Since signing to Pure Noise, they’ve consistently upped the ante—especially with 2021’s Aftermath, produced by Andrew Wade (yep, the guy behind A Day To Remember and Neck Deep). Now, with Last To Love, it sounds like they’re refining everything they’ve built into something raw, honest, and uniquely theirs.
The four-track EP will include “Live A Lie” alongside “In The Sky,” “Carry On,” and the title track “Liminal”—and if you’re already hooked, you can preorder it now. But until September 4th rolls around, crank up “Live A Lie,” scream along, and get ready for the next era of Belmont. It’s loud, it’s real, and it’s coming fast.
