Assurance are done waiting in the wings. The Birmingham-based metal outfit have just dropped “Entropy,” the first explosive step into a whole new era—and it’s one hell of a reintroduction. With brand new frontman Cuba Stanley taking the mic, the band sound sharper, louder, and more confident than ever.
This isn’t just a new single. It’s a full reset. “Entropy” brings all the ferocity you’d expect from the UK progressive metal scene, but this time with a richer, melodic bite that lingers long after the final note. The track comes packaged with a vibey music video, directed by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films), which feels less like a performance and more like a declaration: Assurance aren’t just back—they’ve levelled up.
What makes it even more impressive? They did it all themselves. The track was written, recorded, mixed, and mastered in-house. Even the artwork? DIY. There’s no label polish here—just raw talent, creative freedom, and a serious amount of grind. If this is what the next chapter of Assurance sounds like, then count us in.

And the momentum doesn’t stop there. The band are hosting their very own open-air festival, The Sanctum, later this month at Dead Wax in Birmingham (July 26–27). They’ve roped in headliners Exist Immortal and The Five Hundred, plus a stacked lineup including INDEVTH, Waterlines, Recall The Remains, and InRetrospect. It’s shaping up to be one of the UK underground’s biggest moments of the summer—and a perfect way to see “Entropy” come to life. Tickets available here!
So yeah, Assurance aren’t just dropping songs. They’re building something bigger.
