Exciting news for all you punks, alts, hardcore, emo, and rockers! A casting call has just been announced for the upcoming Green Day-inspired comedy New Years Rev, and they want YOU to be part of the action.
Freihofer Casting is on the lookout for individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 to appear in a concert scene set to take place in Oklahoma City. The film’s storyline, which focuses on Green Day’s early years, needs people to play the role of “attendees of a pop-up rock show at an outdoor location.”
Filming will take place between February 24–27, and if that isn’t exciting enough, one day will feature a “rain and mud fight” event. Fans of Green Day will recognize this as an homage to their infamous 1994 Woodstock performance, which ended in a massive mud fight.
New Years Rev will showcase the wild, chaotic beginnings of the band, with Billie Joe Armstrong sharing his thoughts on the film: “Van days rule. You will drive all night on no sleep then play a show for 10 kids in a basement of a friend of a friend’s house 50 miles east of anywhere you’ve ever heard of. But you’ll do it again the next day, and the one after that. Because you’re doing it with your bandmates who become your family and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever known. It’s electric. Let the music and mischief ensue.”
If you fit the bill and want to be part of this Green Day-inspired chaos, now’s your chance to get in on the action!
