Future Teens Announce New Album Still Life And Share Unmade Bed

Future Teens have announced their fourth album Still Life, arriving May 8, alongside new single Unmade Bed, which introduces the emotional direction of the record.

The Boston trio built their identity around what they once called bummer pop, songs rooted in everyday struggles and complicated relationships. Unmade Bed pushes that further, focusing on grief and the long process of learning how to live with loss rather than move past it.

Amy Hoffman explained the track reflects on the death of someone deeply important and the difficult cycle of shame that followed. Over time, that perspective shifted toward acceptance, recognising that grief isn’t linear and that doing the best you could at the time has to be enough. That honesty sits at the centre of the song, keeping the band’s songwriting intimate while allowing the production to feel more expansive.

Still Life continues that approach. Written across months of personal change including loss, sobriety and the kind of reflection that comes with growing older, the album captures a band allowing their music to evolve alongside their lives. The record follows Self Help and sees Future Teens leaning deeper into emotional storytelling while maintaining the melodic indie and emo foundation that’s defined them for years.

Since forming, the band have prioritised connection over momentum, building a community around vulnerability and friendship while touring with artists like The Wonder Years, Hot Mulligan and Free Throw. Still Life looks set to continue that path, presenting a collection of songs shaped by real experiences rather than big reinvention.

With Unmade Bed now out and tour plans expected to follow, Future Teens are entering a new chapter built around reflection, growth and the understanding that some feelings don’t fade, they just change shape.
