Sunbleached Preview Their Debut Album With The Emotionally Tangled “Maybe I’ll Come Around”

Sunbleached have shared the latest taste of their debut album with new single “Maybe I’ll Come Around”, a track built around knowing a relationship is going nowhere but finding yourself pulled back in anyway.

The Brisbane alt rock band will release their debut full length, Stop Destroying The Things You Love, on September 18th via Community Music. Produced by Fletcher Matthews, whose credits include Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle and Secret World, the album follows previous singles “Pain Chamber” and “Slow Burn”.

For vocalist Josh Baker, “Maybe I’ll Come Around” comes from recognising an unhealthy pattern but struggling to actually walk away from it.

“You know it’s a bad idea, but the little bits of attention keep pulling you back in,” Baker explains. “The whole thing is messed up and you recognise the pattern, but you ignore it anyway.”

The new album marks another step forward for Sunbleached following their 2024 EP I Crawled Into The Hole and 2023’s Delicate Places We Hide. Since forming in 2020, the band have gone on to play BIGSOUND and New Bloom Festival while sharing stages with Citizen, Movements, Holding Absence, Fleshwater, Touché Amoré, Boston Manor and Highly Suspect.

Sunbleached will take the new material on the road in September when they support Seahaven on the California emo band’s East Coast Australian tour.
