Super Sometimes Drop ‘Learned My Lesson’ as New Album Lands May 15th

Super Sometimes are back with another preview of their upcoming debut, dropping new single and video “Learned My Lesson” ahead of their album Show The World What’s Underneath, which arrives May 15 via Pure Noise Records.

The San Diego trio have been building momentum with earlier singles “Make Up Stories” and “Afterthought,” and this latest release adds another piece to the rollout. The album marks a big step for the band, who have quickly grown from local shows to bigger stages and a wider online audience.

Speaking on the new track, the band said it came together in a single session with Hot Mulligan’s Chris Freeman and pushed them to try something different. “Chris really pushed our boundaries on this track, challenging us not to make just another run-of-the-mill pop-punk song and that’s exactly what we did,” they explained, adding that it was about stepping outside their usual sound and letting the songwriting lead.

The album has been shaped alongside familiar names in the scene, including Nick Casasanto from Knuckle Puck and producer Kyle Black, as the band lean into a mix of influences while keeping things personal. Lyrically, it focuses on growing up, relationships and figuring things out in your early twenties.

Show The World What’s Underneath lands May 15 and is available to pre order now. To celebrate the rollout, we’re giving away a limited pressing of the album on vinyl over on our Instagram, and it’s already sold out everywhere else!

Super Sometimes are currently out on the road supporting Arm’s Length, The Callous Daoboys and Harrison Gordon, with more dates lined up including Japan shows and appearances at Vans Warped Tour later this year.
