Public Opinion Announce New Album and Share ‘Balloon Man Running’

Denver punk outfit Public Opinion have officially announced their second album The Curse of Public Opinion, set for release on August 7, 2026 via SideOneDummy Records. Alongside the news, they’ve shared the first taste of the record with new single “Balloon Man Running.”

The upcoming album marks the band’s next step after building momentum out of the Denver hardcore scene since forming in 2020. It’s their second full-length and sees them pushing further into their blend of punk, garage rock, and hardcore influences, working with producer Brett Romnes.

Speaking on the record, vocalist Kevin Hart explains, “A lot of bands make music about feeling bad but they’re so dialed-in. I think our message is a little more messy, but a lot more human. At the end of the day I’m kind of a quiet, angry guy. I don’t explode, I implode. So when it comes to the songs I don’t try to stop all that from coming through.”

To support the release, Public Opinion are heading out on a run of US shows, including dates with Drug Church, White Reaper, Spy, and Squint, before returning home for a string of summer shows.

The Curse of Public Opinion arrives August 7, with “Balloon Man Running” out now.
