The All-American Rejects return with new single ‘King Kong’ ahead of comeback album ‘Sandbox’

The All-American Rejects are back with their new single ‘King Kong’, the latest track taken from their upcoming album Sandbox, set for release on May 15, 2026. It marks another step in the band’s long-awaited return, with fresh material landing for the first time in over a decade.

‘King Kong’ follows earlier singles ‘Easy Come, Easy Go’ and ‘Get This’, both helping build momentum around the band’s comeback. With Sandbox now on the horizon, it’s clear this isn’t just a one-off return, but the start of a new chapter for the band.

Speaking on the track, frontman Tyson Ritter shared some insight into the meaning behind it, explaining: “‘King Kong’ is about leaving Los Angeles… It’s a town where everyone is chasing the same industry. There’s no real life about it for me that I experienced until I left.” The track reflects that shift, rooted in his move back to Oklahoma and a different perspective on life and the industry.

Alongside the new music, the band are also gearing up for a run of UK dates this summer, including appearances at Download Festival and sold-out shows in Manchester and London. With a new album on the way and live shows lined up, 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for their return.
