Hands Like Houses are back with a new chapter, announcing their upcoming Lótus EP, set for release on May 22 via Civilians. Alongside the news, they’ve dropped a new single, “DEAD”, which also features Dream On Dreamer.
The EP will include three tracks, “DEAD”, “Flowers” and “Warning Signs”, with the band leaning into a darker and more reflective space across the project. It marks another step in what’s been a steady build of new material, following their recent releases and continued evolution as a band.
Speaking on the new single, the band said, “We bend the truth, numb the doubt, and call it strength so we don’t have to face how empty things can feel. We build a life that looks held together, then act surprised when it still feels bare inside.” It’s a direct look at emotional burnout and the habits people fall into just to get through the day.
The release also ties in with The Lótus Tour, which sees Hands Like Houses reunite with Dream On Dreamer for a run of Australian shows this April. They’ve also confirmed a UK and EU co-headline tour with Broadside in May, bringing this new era overseas not long after the EP drops.
“DEAD” is out now, with Lótus landing May 22.
