Reclus.É, the new project from Daniel P. Carter and Soren Bryce of Tummyache, have officially signed to Rise Records and released their debut single, “A Muted TV”.
The track arrives alongside a cover of Portishead’s classic “Roads” and serves as the first taste of the band’s forthcoming debut album. Produced by Carter, Bryce and Peter Miles, the songs were recorded at Middle Farm Studios and The Black Lodge, with Louis Giannamore handling drums.
While both musicians have built strong reputations through their previous work, Reclus.É marks a fresh creative partnership between the pair. The band takes its name from French anarchist geographer Élisée Reclus and blends influences from across post punk, alternative and hardcore music into something entirely its own.
Speaking on the themes behind the debut single, “A Muted TV” explores the influence of technology and wealth on self image and modern society, offering the first glimpse into the ideas shaping the band’s upcoming debut album.
Fans will not have to wait long to catch Reclus.É live. The band will support A Perfect Circle for two nights at London’s Brixton Academy next week before heading to both Outbreak Festival and 2000trees later this summer.
With a major label signing secured and their first music now out in the world, Reclus.É have wasted little time making an impression.
