Footballhead Drop No-Skip New Album Weight of The Truth

Footballhead have released their new album Weight of The Truth, out now via Tiny Engines.

The Chicago band’s latest full length arrives with early attention, including a spot on Brooklyn Vegan’s Notable Releases of the Week, and builds on the momentum of recent singles like “Hesitate”, “Used To Be”, “Diversion”, and “Fall Away”.

At the centre of the record is its title track, which the band describe as a defining moment for this era.

“‘Weight of the Truth’ is not only the title track of our upcoming record, but also the sonic centrepiece,” they shared. “We feel that it encapsulates the past, present, and future of our band. Aggressive yet tender, brash but lyrically insightful.”

The album pulls from a wide range of influences, with the band leaning into early 2000s alt rock, emo, and heavier guitar driven sounds while continuing to evolve their identity.

“With this record, we are taking the largest leap yet into the deep end of our influences,” they said. “Borrowing from radio rock, mall emo, and alternative, our musical scope has never been wider.”

The release also lands as the band head out on tour supporting Ben Quad, with US dates running through March and April.

With Weight of The Truth now out, Footballhead are stepping into their next chapter with a record that pulls together everything they’ve been building towards.
