Hot Mulligan aren’t slowing down. Just days before kicking off a packed EU, UK and Ireland run, the band have announced a brand new B-side titled “I Don’t Think It’s the Right Time for Emojis.”
The track arrives as a surprise addition to the world around The Sound A Body Makes When It’s Still, giving fans another glimpse into the headspace the band have been sitting in lately. If you’ve followed Hot Mulligan for any length of time, you’ll know their extra songs rarely feel like throwaways, and this one already feels like it belongs alongside the record’s heavier emotional moments.
Vocalist Tades Sanville shared a long, brutally honest statement about the themes behind the song, touching on faith, fear, power and the way institutions can lose their meaning over time. It’s the kind of reflection that Hot Mulligan have built their identity on. Big feelings, uncomfortable questions, and saying the quiet part out loud.

Timing wise, it couldn’t land better. The band hit the road tomorrow for a fifteen date run across Europe and the UK, including a huge London Roundhouse show that’s already close to selling out. Support comes from Delta Sleep, and judging by ticket demand, this is shaping up to be one of their biggest international runs yet.

Later this year they’ll take the momentum into the US with headline shows and major festival appearances alongside Joyce Manor, Saturdays At Your Place and Koyo. It’s another sign of just how far the band have come since house shows and chaotic song titles typed into autocorrect became their thing.

The Sound A Body Makes When It’s Still already marked a new chapter for Hot Mulligan, balancing urgency with some of their most vulnerable writing to date. This new B-side feels like an extension of that world rather than a side note.
The single and video arrive tonight, with pre-saves live now.
