Mirrorcell are stepping into a whole new era, and they’re doing it with some serious bite. Their brand new single “Ichi”, featuring the always-ferocious VCTMS, drops this Friday, and it’s arriving hand-in-hand with the official announcement of their upcoming full length Long Nights in Lovescape. For a band that thrives on mood, visuals, and those late-night feelings you don’t always want to admit to, this might be their most exciting move yet.
“Ichi” instantly changes the atmosphere. It’s darker, heavier, and a little more unhinged than the tracks Mirrorcell have put out over the past year. Vocalist Nate Cell explains the whole thing was inspired by the cult classic Ichi the Killer, which already tells you the headspace we’re walking into. The song digs into that hollow feeling — the kind where nothing really fills the gap — and it loops around the question, “would you change yourself if you could?”. It’s introspective without feeling soft, and when VCTMS come crashing in, the intensity spikes in a way that makes the whole track feel sharper and more emotional. It’s the kind of collaboration that makes you go, “Oh yeah… this works.”
But the single is only half the story. The bigger news is the album. Long Nights in Lovescape finally arrives in February, and pre-saves go live the same day as the single. Mirrorcell have lined up features from Cane Hill, Moodring, and VCTMS, which already sets the tone for how ambitious this record is. They’re leaning into everything people love about them: the cinematic tension, the emotional weight, the late-night introspection where things get a little blurry but somehow a little clearer too.
Since forming in 2022, Mirrorcell have been building their world piece by piece, pulling inspiration from acts like Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Björk, Loathe, and Code Orange. They’ve carved out this space where heavy music meets emotional honesty, all threaded together with a visual style that feels more like a film than a band rolling out singles. Their 2023 debut track “Bleach” introduced that vision, and their EP Reflecting the Inner Self pushed it further — but this new album feels like the moment everything levels up.
And while fans are soaking in the new single, Mirrorcell are already gearing up for the stage. Their December 6th show in Kansas City with Greyhaven, Fox Lake, and Commoner has completely sold out, and in February they’ll hit the road for their first full U.S. tour alongside Siamese and Hawk. If you’ve caught any clips of their live energy, you already know those rooms are going to feel electric.

Long Nights in Lovescape explores longing, fear, transformation, and the uncomfortable work of looking inward — basically everything Mirrorcell have been hinting at, just dialled up and sharpened. “Ichi” feels like the doorway into that world, a more confrontational, more vulnerable, and more cinematic step into what they’re becoming.
If this is how they’re opening the next chapter, the album is going to land heavy.
