Volumes Just Dropped “S.O.A.P.” — And It’s Pure Filth

If you’ve been waiting for Volumes to unleash something disgusting (in the best possible way), your time has come. The LA heavy hitters just dropped their brand new single “S.O.A.P.” alongside the announcement of their fifth album Mirror Touch — out digitally on December 12th via Fearless Records, with a physical release following on February 27th.

Volumes – S.O.A.P

Fifteen years into their career, Volumes are still doing what they do best: twisting metalcore into their own hybrid monster. “S.O.A.P.” is a brutal, industrial-tinged banger that sounds like Meshuggah and Fear Factory got melted down into liquid metal and poured straight into your headphones. It’s that heavy.

The band describes the track as being about “pure and impure indulgence” — good versus evil, temptation versus control. Basically, it’s the sound of playing with fire and loving the burn. Between Michael Barr and Myke Terry’s vocal interplay, Raad Soudani’s bass-driven chaos, and Nick Ursich’s drumming that could level a small building, it’s a filthy kind of perfection.

And if that wasn’t enough, Mirror Touch looks set to be one of Volumes’ most exciting eras yet. With tracks like “Bad Habit,” “California,” and “Suffer On” (featuring Black Sheep Wall), the record promises everything from groove-laden aggression to full-on emotional release. It’s been a long time coming, but the payoff’s shaping up to be massive.

Volumes have always stood out from the pack — over 167 million streams in the U.S. alone, countless sold-out shows, and a sound that’s as technical as it is gut-punching. They’ve shared stages with everyone from Dance Gavin Dance to Ice Nine Kills, and yet somehow, they’ve managed to level up again.

So yeah, Mirror Touch is on the horizon — and if “S.O.A.P.” is anything to go by, Volumes are about to make everyone else in metalcore wash their mouths out.
