If there’s one thing Employed To Serve never fail to deliver, it’s pure, unfiltered heaviness. The UK metal juggernaut have just dropped a brand-new video for Treachery, taken from their latest record Fallen Star (out now via Spinefarm), and it’s exactly the kind of blunt-force chaos you want blasting through your speakers.
Frontwoman Justine Jones explains why this track was always destined to lead the charge: “As soon as we wrote this song, we always knew it was going to be the opener. Just straight out of the gate riffs, and Sammy was also able to do his Tom Araya impersonation. This track is about people in your life letting themselves down, and by proxy letting those close to them down as well.” For the video, directed by Murry Deaves, the band kept things stripped back — a straight-up performance piece that captures the raw energy of the track without distraction.
Treachery sets the tone for an album already being hailed as their finest work. Fallen Star sees ETS sharpen their vision into a metallic tour-de-force, spanning 11 tracks and featuring guest spots from Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Will Ramos (Lorna Shore), and Serena Cherry (Svalbard). Critics are losing their minds over it, too — Kerrang! awarded the album a perfect 5/5, calling it “exhilarating” and “heroic,” while Metal Hammer gave it a 9/10 and declared it a major contender for metal album of the year.
Since their early days tearing through the local scene, Employed To Serve have evolved into one of the UK’s most important heavy acts. From Conquering’s arena tours alongside Gojira to festival slots at Bloodstock, Hellfest, and even Glastonbury, their journey has been one of constant growth. Fallen Star feels like the natural next step — ambitious, crushing, and loaded with the kind of riffs that demand to be experienced live.
And if you want the live experience, you’re in luck. The band are about to hit Europe hard, with headline shows and a huge run supporting Killswitch Engage. Dates and ticket info are all up on their socials, so if you’re anywhere near the chaos, don’t miss it.

Fallen Star is available now on limited-run vinyl variants (black sunburst and orange/black splatter) for those who like their records as heavy on the shelf as they are through the speakers.
Employed To Serve have never been more vital, and Treachery is proof that their reign in modern metal is only just beginning.
