In a shocking turn of events, Jeremy McKinnon is trading breakdowns for banjos with the announcement of his debut solo country album, Honky Tonk to Remember.
The A Day to Remember vocalist—known for seamlessly blending pop-punk, metalcore, and acoustic ballads—revealed his sudden love for country music in an exclusive interview, stating:
“I’ve always wanted to write songs about trucks, heartbreak, and drinking on a porch swing. It just felt like the right time.”
The upcoming album, set for release on June 31st, features a mix of country-rock anthems, tearjerker ballads, and even a bluegrass breakdown. Standout tracks include:
• “Breakdowns & Backroads” – a song about leaving the mosh pit for a dirt road
• “Two-Steppin’ Through a Two-Step” – a heartfelt anthem about navigating life’s hardest decisions
• “If It Means a Lot to Yee-Haw” – a reimagined country version of the ADTR classic
• “Bull Ridin’ Ain’t Dead” – a tribute to the Yee-Haw Agenda
While fans are still processing this unexpected pivot, McKinnon insists that this isn’t a joke. “I’m serious, y’all,” he said, adjusting his cowboy hat.
April fools.
