Stand Atlantic have released their fifth studio album, GODBREATH, today, October 23rd, via Virgin Music Group, alongside their brand new single “SO COOL”.
The 11-track record follows 2024’s Was Here and marks another chapter for the Australian four-piece. Born out of a period of writer’s block, the album sees the band move away from expectations and embrace a more spontaneous approach to songwriting. The entire record was tracked live as a band, with vocalist Bonnie Fraser taking a more direct approach to her lyrics.
Leading the release is “SO COOL”, which joins previously released singles “LUCID”, “Velcro”, “EDGE OF VEGAS” and “NEXT2U”. Fraser explained that the new track came together during a writing session with producer Stevie Knight in Sydney, when the pair were struggling creatively.
“I thought about those ridiculous moments when you just feel shamelessly cool. It’s a fun song to play in your car with the windows rolled down. To make you feel like you’re in the VIP section of life.”
The album’s release also coincides with the start of Stand Atlantic’s Australian headline tour, kicking off tonight in Brisbane before heading to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Following the Australian dates, the band will return to the United States in November and December for a run of shows supporting Silverstein, including stops in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.
