SECRETS have released their new album Searching For The Things We Don’t Wish To Find via SBG Records, with the band describing it as some of their most vulnerable and honest material to date.
The 11 track record continues a career that has seen the California band turn personal experiences into post hardcore and metalcore for more than a decade. At the centre of the new release is focus track “Split Tongue”, while the album also includes “A Pattern Of Return”, “Signal Decay”, “Silent Strain”, “The Dark” and “Bitter Dose”.
For vocalist Wade Walters, the record is built around confronting thoughts, memories and emotions that are often easier to avoid.
“Searching For The Things We Don’t Wish To Find is SECRETS at our most vulnerable, aggressive, and honest,” Walters explains. “We dug into the things people tend to bury, the thoughts, memories, and emotions we’d rather avoid, and turned them into something we’re incredibly proud of.”
He adds that the band have been sitting with the material for some time, saying: “We’ve lived with these songs for a long time, and we’re ready for them to finally belong to everyone.”
The album becomes the latest chapter in a catalogue stretching back to debut record The Ascent in 2012, followed by Fragile Figures, Everything That Got Us Here, Secrets and 2022’s The Collapse.
