Public Works has announced a brand new EP, Forklift Certified, arriving February 26, 2027, via Hopeless Records. Alongside the announcement, the New Jersey artist has released a new single, “Boy Scout”, giving fans their first taste of what’s to come.
The new track sees Public Works reflecting on the past, particularly the decisions and experiences that might come with a few regrets. Rather than wishing things had turned out differently, “Boy Scout” is about accepting those moments as part of who you’ve become, summed up by the lyric, “if I had to do it again, I would do it again.”
Public Works is the project of New Jersey singer and songwriter Jacob Dietrich, who has been building a name for himself through honest, personal songwriting and a growing presence in the pop punk scene. His music often touches on subjects including sobriety, ambition and the desire to escape your hometown.
The announcement follows a busy year for Dietrich, who signed with Hopeless Records earlier this year and has since released singles including “Coors” and “I’m Cool, I’m Fine”. He’s also been making appearances alongside Belmont and Have Mercy, as well as performing at Ceremony Festival.

With Forklift Certified now officially on the calendar, Public Works looks set to carry that momentum into 2027. Further details surrounding the EP have yet to be announced.
