Tasmanian pop punk trio Offset Vision have signed to Ninth Life Records, marking the move with the release of their new three track EP, ‘You’re Not What I Need’, out today.
The EP is the band’s first release through Ninth Life and features ‘At All’, ‘Calm Down’ and ‘Covet’, with a new music video for ‘Calm Down’ also arriving alongside the release. It follows a run that has seen Offset Vision steadily push beyond their home state, including shows alongside Alpha Wolf, Tiny Moving Parts, Free Throw, Northlane, Between You and Me and Yours Truly.
‘You’re Not What I Need’ also marks the first time the trio have brought an outside producer into the process, working with Ionei Heckenberg of Zanari Records, whose credits include Ocean Sleeper.
“We are always looking to improve as writers and performers and this was a big step in the right direction,” the band said of the decision.
Made up of James Baker, Mark Fletcher and Keenan McCarthy, Offset Vision originally formed as high school friends jamming together in Tasmania. Since then, they’ve gone on to appear at UNIFY Gathering: Off The Record in 2023 and Party In The Paddock in 2024.
The band keep their ambitions fairly simple: “We’re a group of close friends just trying to have as much fun as possible and write the sickest riffs possible.”
