Good Charlotte are bringing Greetings From California back to streaming services on November 6th, more than a decade after Joel and Benji Madden originally released the album under their side project, The Madden Brothers.

Originally released in 2014, the record was removed from streaming platforms in 2015 after the brothers decided they wanted to keep it for themselves. Now, 12 years later, they’ve had a change of heart, with the album returning under the Good Charlotte name via MDDN/Atlantic.

The expanded edition will feature three bonus tracks, including a new version of U R featuring eight time Grammy Award winner Ziggy Marley, which is available to stream now. The other additions include a collaboration with Eyedress on Jealousy (All Your Friends In Silverlake) and a live recording of We Are Done from the Motel Du Cap Tour.

Explaining why they’ve decided to revisit the album, Joel and Benji shared:

“More than 12 years ago we made this album as The Madden Brothers. Soon after releasing it we felt like we wanted to take it back, and keep it just for us. All these years later, we realized, this could have been a GC record all along, so we’ve put some time and love into repackaging this to re-release it, and it’s really meaningful to get to share it again.”

The album originally saw the brothers exploring music outside Good Charlotte, working with producers Eric Valentine and Joe Chiccarelli. Despite disappearing from streaming platforms shortly after release, it has remained a favourite among fans who have continued asking for its return.

Alongside the digital release, a limited edition double vinyl featuring the three bonus tracks and updated artwork will arrive at participating independent record stores on November 27th as part of Record Store Day Black Friday.

The timing also lines up with Good Charlotte’s return to Europe and the UK. Their Motel Du Cap Tour kicks off in Stockholm on November 8th, with Yellowcard joining as special guests and Grave Secrets opening every show.

The tour includes two UK dates, London’s O2 Arena on November 19th and Manchester’s Co-op Live on November 30th.

UK Tour

It follows the release of Motel Du Cap in 2025, Good Charlotte’s first studio album in seven years.

With Greetings From California finally returning, a record the Madden brothers once deliberately stepped away from is getting another chance, this time as part of Good Charlotte’s catalogue.
