Dayseeker have announced an expanded edition of their 2025 album Creature In The Black Night, featuring new remixes, live recordings and a cover of My Chemical Romance’s “The Ghost Of You”.
Titled Creature In The Black Night Redux, the release arrives on February 26th, 2027, via Spinefarm Records and includes collaborations with synthwave duo The Midnight.
Alongside the announcement, the band have released a reworked version of “Shapeshift”, featuring The Midnight, accompanied by a new lyric video.
Speaking about the collaboration, vocalist Rory Rodriguez said:
“This was such an honor to collaborate with The Midnight and transform these songs in a way people have never heard before.”
Rodriguez also discussed the band’s decision to cover My Chemical Romance.
“The MCR cover of ‘Ghost of You’ is so nostalgic for all of us in the band as well and we really tried to recreate that song in our own band’s sound and image.”
The expanded release features several original album tracks reimagined by The Midnight, including “Crawl Back To My Coffin”, “Bloodlust” and “The Living Dead”, alongside stripped-back live recordings of “Shapeshift” and “Crawl Back To My Coffin”, recorded for SiriusXM Octane.
The Midnight’s Tim McEwan described the collaboration as a step towards a sound he calls “metalwave”, combining elements of metal and synthwave.
The announcement comes as Dayseeker prepare to join Motionless In White on the second leg of their The Sweat And Blood Tour, alongside The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Divine. The run begins October 30th in Worcester, Massachusetts, and concludes November 20th in Pittsburgh.
Creature In The Black Night Redux will be available digitally, on double CD and in two coloured double-vinyl editions, with pre-orders available now.
