Canadian hardcore heavyweights Comeback Kid have released their brand new single ‘Shedding Season’, featuring Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante, alongside an official music video.
The collaboration arrives just ahead of the band’s eighth studio album, Chosen Hell, which is set for release on Friday, 6 November, through SharpTone Records.
Speaking about the meaning behind the track, vocalist Andrew Neufeld explained:
“‘Shedding Season’ is about peeling back the stress, drama, and pain that we’ve been carrying on through life with. It’s about the specific period in life where the decision is made to set ourselves free from harmful weight that we have lived in up until that point.”
Neufeld also praised LaPlante’s contribution, revealing that the pair trade vocals throughout the song, creating a lyrical exchange between two opposing perspectives.
The upcoming 11-track album was produced, mixed and mastered by Will Putney, whose previous credits include Knocked Loose, Gojira and Every Time I Die.
LaPlante isn’t the only guest appearing on the record, with Incendiary vocalist Brendan Garrone also featuring on ‘Yesterday’s Gone’.

Chosen Hell follows the band’s 2022 album Heavy Steps and their 2024 EP TROUBLE, marking another chapter in Comeback Kid’s career spanning more than 25 years.
