Citizen have shared one final preview of their upcoming album Halcyon Blues, releasing the new single Good Fortune ahead of the record’s arrival this Friday, August 7th via Run For Cover Records.
The track opens the band’s sixth studio album and follows previously released singles I Can See You From Here, Halcyon Blues and Highs and Lows. With the full record now just days away, Good Fortune serves as the final taste of what fans can expect before the album drops.
Seventeen years into their career, Citizen continue to do things their own way. Since forming in Toledo, Ohio, the band have steadily evolved through emo, post hardcore, alternative rock and indie influences without chasing trends, building a loyal following through constant reinvention rather than sticking to one sound.

Guitarist Nick Hamm says that long term approach has always been the band’s priority.
“A lot of bands try to do anything they can to be the hottest thing of the moment and we’ve just never operated like that. We don’t think in moments, or months, or record cycles. I see Citizen as this long term creative project where there’s always somewhere new to go, and that’s kept me exhilarated through all these years. And we’ve trusted that people who like our band will want to come along.”

Halcyon Blues arrives on August 7th through Run For Cover Records. Citizen will then take the album on the road with a huge run of headline dates across North America, Europe and Australia, including five UK shows this October. Modern Color and thistle. will join the band on the UK leg, with stops in London, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and Bristol.
