September 2026 brings with it another packed month of album anniversaries, with records from across pop punk, emo, metalcore and alternative music reaching some pretty significant milestones.
From albums released just five years ago to records now hitting the 30-year mark, here are 13 worth revisiting this month.
September 2nd: A Day To Remember – Bad Vibrations — 10 Years
Released in 2016, Bad Vibrations arrived after A Day To Remember’s huge Common Courtesy era and gave us tracks including “Paranoia”, “Naivety” and the title track.
September 4th: System Of A Down – Toxicity — 25 Years
One of the biggest alternative metal albums of its generation turns 25. Toxicity arrived in 2001 and included “Chop Suey!”, “Aerials” and its title track.
September 9th: Of Mice & Men – Cold World — 10 Years
Of Mice & Men’s fourth studio album reaches a decade this September. Cold World would also become the band’s final album to feature Austin Carlile before his departure later that year.
September 13th: The Devil Wears Prada – Dead Throne — 15 Years
A big one for 2010s metalcore. The Devil Wears Prada released their fourth album Dead Throne in 2011, featuring tracks including “Born To Lose”, “Mammoth” and “Vengeance”.
September 13th: We Came As Romans – Understanding What We’ve Grown to Be — 15 Years
Released through Equal Vision Records in 2011, We Came As Romans’ second album turns 15. The record followed their breakthrough debut To Plant a Seed and reached No.21 on the Billboard 200.
September 16th: Taking Back Sunday – Tidal Wave — 10 Years
Taking Back Sunday’s seventh studio album reaches its first decade. The band released Tidal Wave on September 16th, 2016, with the record seeing them push beyond the sound that had defined much of their earlier career.
September 17th: Spiritbox – Eternal Blue — 5 Years
It somehow already feels like time to call this an anniversary album. Spiritbox released their debut full-length Eternal Blue in 2021, featuring “Holy Roller”, “Circle With Me”, “Constance” and “Secret Garden”. The album established Spiritbox as one of the biggest new names in modern metal.
September 24th: Sleep Token – This Place Will Become Your Tomb — 5 Years
Long before their rise to arena-level status, Sleep Token released their second album This Place Will Become Your Tomb in September 2021. Featuring “Alkaline”, “The Love You Want” and “Atlantic”, it became an important step towards what followed with Take Me Back To Eden.
September 24th: Angels & Airwaves – Lifeforms — 5 Years

Tom DeLonge’s Angels & Airwaves returned from a seven-year gap between studio albums with Lifeforms in 2021. Released through Rise Records, it brought together tracks including “Rebel Girl”, “Euphoria” and “Losing My Mind”.
September 24th: Weezer – Pinkerton — 30 Years
One of the month’s biggest anniversaries. Weezer’s Pinkerton turns 30 years old.
The album famously struggled to match the immediate success of The Blue Album and received a mixed response upon release, but its reputation changed dramatically in the years that followed. It has since become a cult favourite and an enormously influential record within emo and alternative rock.
September 26th: Saosin – Saosin — 20 Years
Twenty years of “You’re Not Alone”.
Saosin’s self-titled debut full-length arrived in 2006 with Cove Reber on vocals and became one of the defining records associated with the mid-2000s post-hardcore scene. “Voices”, “You’re Not Alone”, “Sleepers” and “It’s Far Better to Learn” all appeared on the record.
September 27th: blink-182 – Neighborhoods — 15 Years
Blink-182’s first album following their reunion turns 15.
Neighborhoods ended an eight-year wait for a new blink studio album following 2003’s self-titled record and marked the return of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker to the studio together. “Up All Night”, “After Midnight”, “Ghost on the Dance Floor” and “Wishing Well” all came from the era.
September 30th: Boston Manor – Be Nothing. — 10 Years
Closing out the month is a cult favourite from the UK scene. Boston Manor’s debut album Be Nothing. turns 10 years old on September 30th.
Released through Pure Noise Records in 2016, the album featured “Laika”, “Lead Feet” and “Fossa” and helped establish Boston Manor well beyond their early UK pop punk beginnings.
From Pinkerton reaching 30 and Saosin hitting 20 to Eternal Blue and This Place Will Become Your Tomb already turning five, September has plenty of records worth putting back into rotation.
