Ice Nine Kills have expanded their ever growing horror universe once again, this time teaming up with Dead by Daylight for their brand new single, “Play Dead”.
Released as part of the survival horror game’s 10th anniversary celebrations, “Play Dead” was written specifically for Dead by Daylight and arrives alongside an official music video and an in game Ice Nine Kills collection, allowing players to represent the band within the game’s iconic world.
The collaboration also brings together two of horror’s biggest names behind the scenes. Ice Nine Kills worked with longtime Dead by Daylight composer Michel F. April on the track, while the accompanying video welcomes skateboarding icon Tony Hawk, actor Devon Sawa and Terrifier 3 star Krsy Fox into the ever expanding INKverse.
Speaking about the collaboration, Spencer Charnas said: “Ice Nine Kills has always lived somewhere between menace and mischief. ‘Play Dead’, our take on Dead by Daylight, is a collision of hooks, horror, and total chaos. As lifelong horror fans, we find it surreal and an absolute honor to have Ice Nine Kills’ music officially tied to Terrifier, Scream, Ready or Not, and now, the iconic survival horror game Dead by Daylight.”
“Play Dead” continues an incredible run for the band, following their first ever Number One at Active Rock Radio with “Twisting The Knife” featuring Mckenna Grace. It also further cements Ice Nine Kills as one of horror’s defining musical voices, following collaborations with Terrifier 3, Scream 7, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come and the upcoming Halloween: The Game.
