Pierce the Veil created one of the most emotional moments of the weekend during their set at Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival after bringing a fan battling cancer on stage for “Hold On Till May”.
During the performance in Columbus, Ohio, frontman Vic Fuentes introduced the fan, Priscilla, to the crowd before sharing that she was currently fighting cancer. As she joined the band on stage, Vic told the audience she was “giving the middle finger to cancer”, leading thousands in the crowd to raise theirs in support before the band performed the track together.
For longtime Pierce The Veil fans, “Hold On Till May” already carries a huge emotional connection. The song closes the band’s 2012 album Collide with the Sky and its title was inspired by a fan named Olivia, whose story has remained closely tied to the track ever since. Over the years, the song has taken on a much bigger meaning within the band’s community, especially around themes of support, mental health and perseverance.
Every May 1st, fans regularly flood social media with messages saying they “held on till May” for another year, turning the song into something far beyond just an album closer. That history made the moment with Priscilla hit even harder for fans watching both in the crowd and online.
Pierce The Veil are currently continuing their huge 2026 touring run following the ongoing success of their recent live shows and festival appearances, with clips from the Sonic Temple moment already spreading quickly across social media.
