Waterparks are back with a big one. The band have officially announced their sixth studio album JINX, set to land July 24 via BMG, alongside the release of a brand new single, “PROWLER”, which is out now.
The upcoming record is shaping up to be one of their most ambitious yet, with a stacked feature list including Mark Hoppus, Danny Elfman, Eric Nally, and Dillon Francis. It follows a period of major change for the band, as they moved on from much of their previous team and label setup.
Speaking on the new single, frontman Awsten Knight shared a pretty honest look at where his head was at while writing it. “I wrote ‘PROWLER’ at a time I felt the most isolated last year,” he explains, going on to describe the impact of stepping away from their old team and how it left him feeling like everything around him was shifting at once. “This song is a reflection of the extremely concentrated sadness I felt over those months while trying to rebuild my world.”

JINX is set to dive into themes around identity, pressure, and connection, with a tracklist that includes “PROWLER”, “RED GUITAR”, and “TASTES LIKE TANGERINE”. The album drops July 24, and pre-orders are already live.
