Ice Nine Kills Score Biggest Streaming Debut Yet With ‘Twisting The Knife’ From Scream 7

Ice Nine Kills are having a huge moment right now.

Their latest single “Twisting The Knife,” featuring Mckenna Grace, has pulled in nearly 10 million streams in its first week. That makes it the band’s biggest single launch to date.

The track plays over the closing credits of Scream 7, which has just opened as the number one movie in the world and delivered the biggest debut in the franchise’s history. Safe to say the crossover between horror and heavy music is working.

The official music video is also picking up serious momentum. At the time of writing it has already passed 5 million views and features several familiar faces from the Scream universe, including the voice of Ghostface, Roger L. Jackson, alongside Grace and franchise favourite David Arquette.

Frontman Spencer Charnas says the moment feels surreal. Growing up obsessed with the Scream franchise, he never imagined Ice Nine Kills would one day collaborate with so many of the people connected to it. From the band’s earlier Scream inspired track “Your Number’s Up” to now closing out the newest film, the connection has come full circle.

The collaboration also continues a run of horror related wins for the band. In 2024, their track “A Work of Art” was featured as the official song for Terrifier 3, which went on to debut at number one and became the highest grossing unrated film of all time.

With more than two billion global streams and a fanbase that proudly calls themselves the Psychos, Ice Nine Kills have built one of the most distinctive worlds in modern heavy music. Music videos, conventions, merch drops and horror collaborations have all become part of the expanding INK universe.

Now, with Scream 7 dominating cinemas and “Twisting The Knife” tearing through streaming platforms, the band have added another major moment to their horror packed story.
