If you’ve been keeping an eye on heavy music over the past year, you’ll know PRESIDENT haven’t exactly done things the normal way. And with their new single “Angel Wings,” they’re pushing that even further.
The UK based, multi million streaming project has returned with their first new music of 2026, and it feels like a clear statement of intent. “Angel Wings” blends alt rock, industrial textures, programmed beats and sharp, controlled breakdowns into something that feels cinematic without losing its weight. It’s layered, deliberate and built to pull you in rather than shout for attention.
Speaking on the track, the artist explains, “‘Angel Wings’ reflects a search for spiritual redemption and the resolve to begin again. It marks the opening of a new chapter. At its core, the song speaks to holding close those who matter most, while remaining unmoved by detractors.”
That “new chapter” isn’t just lyrical. “Angel Wings” is also PRESIDENT’s first release via Atlantic Records, marking a major step forward after launching in 2025 under a cloak of minimalism and anonymity. From the start, the project has prioritised intent over image, choosing atmosphere and intrigue over constant noise.
That approach has clearly worked. Metal Hammer called them “on their way to winning a landslide victory over metal.” Kerrang! described them as “a new leader to take heavy music into a glorious new age.” Rock Sound named them the breakout metal success of 2025. Not bad for a band that actively avoids the conveyor belt mentality of the industry.
In a previous cover feature with Revolver, PRESIDENT summed it up best: “The music industry has elements of fast fashion to it these days. Things just come and go. Everything’s really quick. Everyone’s shouting for attention, and there’s just so much noise, and it just becomes a fucking conveyor belt. [We] wanted to step back and not be a part of that. But if people are interested, and they want to enter into this world, we’ll grab them with open arms.”
And people are clearly interested. Their entire UK and Ireland headline run this spring is sold out, and they’re about to hit North America opening for Bad Omens and Beartooth before a stacked summer of major European festivals.
“Angel Wings” feels like more than just a new single. It feels like confirmation that PRESIDENT are building something long term, and they’re doing it on their own terms.
