Tim Henson Goes Solo And “Original Sin” Shows A Whole New Side Of Him

If you know Tim Henson from Polyphia, you already know he doesn’t really do “normal.”

The genre bending guitarist recently stepped out on his own with Original Sin, his debut solo single, and it feels like one of those moments where an artist pulls back the curtain and lets you see what’s really going on in their head.

Tim Henson – Original Sin

What makes this release hit a little differently is that Tim handled everything himself. Writing, producing, mixing, shaping the whole thing from start to finish. It started life on keyboards and synths before finding its way onto his nylon string guitar, which he hasn’t centred like this since Polyphia’s Playing God. The result is something elegant but uneasy at the same time, a track that feels like it’s constantly pushing forward while quietly challenging what you expect from instrumental music.

Tim describes Original Sin as being about choice. Not in a heavy handed way, but more about freedom, temptation, and consequence. His idea is simple: if you’re forced to do the right thing, it doesn’t really mean anything. That philosophy runs straight through the music video too, giving the whole release a deeper edge without ever feeling overthought.

And it doesn’t stop there.

Alongside the single, Tim also announced a new high end clothing brand called Original Sin, designed as a creative extension of the project. Think elevated fashion with the same obsessive attention to detail he brings to his music.

While Polyphia are still very much a focus for 2026, this solo moment offers a rare, unfiltered look at Tim as an individual artist. He’s already reaching millions across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and his influence now stretches way beyond guitar circles into fashion, culture and design.

He also recently appeared at NAMM with Ibanez, showing off five new guitar prototypes including updates to his TOD line, giving fans a glimpse at what’s coming later this year. Add recent interviews with Rolling Stone and WIRED into the mix, and it’s clear Tim Henson is having a serious moment right now.

Original Sin is out everywhere, and whether you’re a long time Polyphia fan or just discovering Tim’s world for the first time, this feels like the start of something big.
