Linkin Park’s “Numb” Has Spent Nearly 18 Years on the Official Rock and Metal Singles Chart

We only posted about Linkin Park’s chart dominance last week when “Hybrid Theory” hit 452 weeks on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart. You would think that kind of run is rare. Then “Numb” shows up and says watch this.

The track has now spent 917 weeks on the Official Rock and Metal Singles Chart. That works out to nearly 18 years of charting. Eighteen years. Most singles do not even survive a school term. “Numb” has lived through entire eras of music, trends, platforms, breakups, reunions, and social media changes without ever really dropping away.

What makes it even better is that it is still showing up in the Top Ten like it never left. People are still discovering it for the first time, blasting it in the car, crying to it at night, or throwing it into every playlist they make. It is a rare track that still feels current even though it has existed longer than some fans have been alive.

There is no trick behind it. Linkin Park simply created a song that refuses to age. It connects with everyone who hears it and it hits the same today as it did in 2003. Nearly 18 years on the chart and it is still going strong!
