CARR Gets Loud, Messy, and Real on Explosive New Single “Hardcore!”

CARR’s not here to play it cool anymore. Her new single “Hardcore!” — out today — is the sonic equivalent of screaming into your steering wheel at 2AM and somehow feeling better afterward. It’s fast, messy, and loud in all the best ways, wrapping heartbreak and hunger into one explosive alt-pop anthem.

CARR – Hardcore!

“‘Hardcore!’ is about someone I was seeing who just wasn’t giving me enough,” CARR admits. “I crave relationships that are fast, messy, and all-consuming — and with him, I started to wonder if maybe I was just too much.” That line right there? Relatable doesn’t even begin to cover it.

From the first punch of the drums to the biting guitars that drive the track, “Hardcore!” is pure emotional release. CARR’s voice dances between sweet and sarcastic — one moment vulnerable, the next fully unhinged. It’s the kind of song you blast on repeat when you’re done pretending you’re okay with being “chill.” Because let’s be honest, being chill is overrated.

This marks the first taste of her upcoming album due early 2026, and if “Hardcore!” is anything to go by, we’re in for a beautifully chaotic ride. The single channels that signature CARR energy — a little sarcastic, a little self-aware, and totally unstoppable. Produced alongside DUMBDAYS!, it captures the moment you stop apologizing for wanting more and start wearing your feelings like armor.

CARR’s rise has been just as raw and real as her music. She didn’t move to LA chasing fame — she literally fell into it. Working nights at a studio, she’d jump on the boards with friends when the place was empty, experimenting for fun. That DIY drive led her straight to Pete Wentz and Spencer Smith’s DCD2 Records, where her brutally honest songwriting found the spotlight it deserves.

Since then, she’s played with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Bring Me the Horizon, Hot Mulligan, Highly Suspect, and Jimmy Eat World, while also lighting up stages at When We Were Young Fest and Emo Nite LA. Not bad for someone who started out just messing around in an empty studio.

“Hardcore!” isn’t just a breakup song — it’s a declaration. It’s for anyone who’s ever been told they’re “too much” and decided to take that as a compliment. CARR isn’t dialing it down for anyone, and honestly? We love her even more for it.
