Angel Du$t just don’t know how to chill — and honestly, that’s why we love them. The Baltimore punk-rock shapeshifters have officially announced their brand-new album Cold 2 The Touch, dropping February 13th via Run For Cover Records, and it’s already shaping up to be their most electrifying release yet.
If you caught any of their wild UK shows this year (including that impromptu street gig outside All Ages in Camden — pure chaos), you’ll know Angel Du$t are in a league of their own right now. They’ve been tearing through scenes with their blend of hardcore ferocity and old-school rock & roll swagger, and the new single — the album’s title track — proves they’re only getting sharper, faster, and somehow even cooler.
Cold 2 The Touch clocks in at just 26 minutes, but Justice Tripp and co. make every second count. From galloping drums and razor-edged riffs to Tripp’s unmistakable delivery, the title track alone feels like a shot of adrenaline straight to the chest. “This is who I am,” says Tripp, “and I speak for the band too: these are people who are always going to be playing aggressive rock & roll. It’s happening whether you like it or not.”
The record reunites the band with producer Brian McTernan (Turnstile, Balance & Composure, Bane), who helped shape much of their early sound — and that reunion energy clearly paid off. Add new members Nick Lewis and Jim Carroll (American Nightmare, The Hope Conspiracy), plus features from heavyweights like Scott Vogel, Wes Eisold, Frank Carter, and Taylor Young, and you’ve got a lineup that feels like a hardcore hall of fame.
For Tripp, this one’s all about living unapologetically and making the kind of noise that can’t be boxed in. “Angel Du$t needs to incite movement,” he says — and from the sound of Cold 2 The Touch, that’s exactly what’s coming. The band’s never been afraid to play with melody, bend genre lines, or go off-script, but this record feels like their truest form yet: raw, restless, and completely unstoppable.
