Buffalo hardcore crew Spaced aren’t slowing down for a second. Fresh off announcing their upcoming EP No Escape—dropping October 17 via Pure Noise Records—they’ve unleashed their latest single, “Pressure,” and it’s every bit as intense as the name suggests.
If you’ve been following the band since they burst onto the scene in 2021, you’ll already know they’ve carved out their own lane with what they proudly call “far out hardcore.” That’s not just a tagline—it’s the perfect way to describe the mix of stomping riffs, swirling guitar effects, and pure, raw aggression that makes their sound stand out. With “Pressure,” they’ve bottled that chaos and fired it straight into your chest. It’s groove-heavy, crushing, and just psychedelic enough to make your head spin.
The track follows their earlier single “Cause and Effect,” which earned nods from outlets like Stereogum, Revolver, and BrooklynVegan. But “Pressure” feels like the real mission statement—it’s the sound of a band leveling up and daring you to keep up. Frontwoman Lexi Reyngoudt puts it best: “It’s a karmic story, a cautionary tale. If you tempt the fates, the universe is going to come back at you. The lyrics are repetitive, but that’s what the feeling of pressure is—constantly feeling like something is weighing you down.”
That energy pulses through the whole band—Reyngoudt backed by Joe Morganti and Donny Arthur on guitars, John Vaughan on bass, and Dan McCormick on drums. Together, they’ve built something heavy but still packed with personality, a balance that’s only sharpened by producer Jay Zubricky (Every Time I Die, Terror, Age of Apocalypse) who captured their stormy blend of ferocity and psychedelic textures perfectly.

With No Escape, Spaced are making it clear: this is a band with no limits and nothing to lose. The EP’s five tracks—“No Escape,” “Cause and Effect,” “How Did It Come To This?,” “Pressure,” and “Dog Bite”—are a statement of intent from a group grinding harder than ever, even while the world feels like it’s falling apart around them.
If “Pressure” is any indication, No Escape isn’t just an EP worth checking out—it’s one that demands to be felt. Pre-orders are live now, so get on it before this one drops.
