Pop-punk fans, rejoice—Cartel are officially back with a fresh spin on the track that started it all. Today, the band dropped “Honestly – 2025,” a reimagined version of their breakout single that first appeared on their 2005 debut album Chroma. The new release marks the beginning of a major celebration: the 20th anniversary of Chroma, and a full re-recorded album to go with it.
Set to arrive on September 12 via Field Day Records, Chroma – 2025 isn’t just a remaster—it’s a complete re-recording of the record that defined an era for so many pop-punk listeners. Frontman Will Pugh explained that the band wanted to “bring Chroma into a modern place sonically and reconcile the live versions of these songs with what is on record.” The goal? To make something that hits just as hard for longtime fans while introducing a new generation to the album’s enduring energy.
The updated version of “Honestly” retains all the raw emotion and punch of the original, but with polished production and a new twist: guest vocals from Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday. Her presence adds a fresh dynamic to the track, bridging the gap between 2000s nostalgia and the current wave of pop-punk revival.
To make the celebration even bigger, Cartel are hitting the road for a North American headline tour this fall. The tour kicks off on September 12—the same day Chroma – 2025 drops—in Charlotte, North Carolina, and includes stops in cities like Nashville, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, San Diego, and Austin. They’ll wrap it all up with a special hometown show in Atlanta.
Fans can pre-save the new version of “Honestly” and pre-order the album’s vinyl pressing via the band’s official site. Tickets for the tour are also on sale now, with VIP packages available.
With Chroma – 2025, Cartel aren’t just looking back—they’re giving their legacy a new life. And if “Honestly – 2025” is any indication, they’ve still got plenty of anthems left in them.
