Pierce The Veil are keeping their foot on the gas in 2025. Just two years after dropping their chart-topping album The Jaws of Life, the San Diego rock trio are back with a deluxe edition of the record, set for release this Friday, May 9 via Fearless Records.
The expanded version of The Jaws of Life includes two new tracks: a soaring original called “Kiss Me Now,” out today, and the band’s bold take on Radiohead’s “Karma Police.” It’s a deluxe release that doesn’t just add extra content—it deepens the emotional core of the album while capturing the whirlwind ride Pierce The Veil have been on since the record’s initial 2023 release.
Lead vocalist Vic Fuentes calls “Kiss Me Now” a deeply personal love song to his wife, Danielle. “It was inspired by a quote I find true as I move through life,” he says. “‘There will never be a perfect time for anything.’” Written alongside Josh Rheault (formerly of The Dear Hunter) in a remote cabin in Julian, California, the track showcases a softer side of the band without losing their signature intensity. It’s a vulnerable moment that feels like a natural continuation of The Jaws of Life’s raw, emotional landscape.
The deluxe edition also includes their 2024 cover of “Karma Police,” a track that originated during a performance for Australia’s Like A Version. Pierce The Veil transform the Radiohead classic with darker, heavier instrumentation while maintaining the haunting atmosphere of the original. “From the second we listened to it in the booth, we knew it was more than a one-time thing,” Fuentes says. The band eventually launched a radio campaign for the cover, proving its staying power among fans and new listeners alike.
The Jaws of Life originally debuted at #14 on the Billboard 200, hit #2 on the Alternative Albums chart, and topped the Hard Rock Albums chart. Its singles—including “Emergency Contact,” which became the band’s first #1 at Alternative Radio—have racked up over 140 million streams to date. Other fan favorites like “Pass the Nirvana,” “Even When I’m Not With You,” and “12 Fractures” featuring Chloe Moriondo helped solidify the album as a major moment in the band’s evolution.
The deluxe version also includes a tour photo booklet, documenting the band’s life on the road during this era. “We created this booklet for the deluxe edition and it’s a ton of photos from the touring cycle of The Jaws of Life,” says Fuentes. “When you look at the photos we chose, it really feels like what we experienced and I want us and our fans to have that forever.”
From its grunge-laced riffs to heartfelt new ballads, the deluxe edition of The Jaws of Life is both a reflection and a reinvention—a record that captures who Pierce The Veil were, are, and are becoming.
The Jaws of Life (Deluxe Edition) is out May 9 via Fearless Records.
