As It Is Revisit Their Roots With Never Happy, Ever After X

Featuring voices from the past and a hopeful look at what’s ahead

A decade after the release of their breakout debut, As It Is are back with Never Happy, Ever After X—a full reimagining of the album that introduced their emotional vulnerability and punchy hooks to the world.

This isn’t just a remaster or a quick anniversary cash-in. It’s a celebration of a scene, a sound, and a moment in time that defined a generation of modern pop punk.

What started as an idea to re-record a few fan favourites quickly snowballed into a full-album rework, complete with a stacked lineup of guest vocalists. Each track on Never Happy, Ever After X features a different collaborator—many of whom helped shape the same alternative scene As It Is rose through in the mid-2010s.

Fans of dearly missed bands like Transit and ROAM will feel a bittersweet pang seeing members from those groups return to lend their voices. These features don’t just feel nostalgic—they feel necessary. It’s a way of honouring bands that may no longer be active, but whose legacies are still deeply felt.

Alongside them, the album features standout appearances from the likes of Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), Lucas Woodland (Holding Absence), and Mikaila Delgado (Yours Truly), giving the record both emotional weight and a fresh energy.

With Never Happy, Ever After X dropping just ahead of Slam Dunk Festival, fans are now wondering: could some of these featured artists join As It Is live on stage for a surprise performance? With so many of them already on the lineup, it’s not out of the question—and it’s safe to say it would be a full-circle moment for longtime fans.

As It Is aren’t just looking back—they’re celebrating what came before while standing confidently in who they are now. Never Happy, Ever After X is proof that the past can still feel powerful when you bring it into the present with purpose.
