Northlane have confirmed that their upcoming seventh studio album, Anemoia, has been delayed until November 27th, 2026, due to production issues. However, the Australian metalcore band have given fans something to look forward to, releasing their brand new single “Deathwish” earlier than originally planned.
In a statement shared on social media, the band also revealed that guitarist Josh Smith has been experiencing rapidly worsening chronic health issues over the past two years and now requires immediate medical intervention.
With Smith unable to travel or perform while focusing on his health and rehabilitation, Northlane have made the difficult decision to postpone their Australian and New Zealand tour until May 2027.
The band explained that the decisions had been incredibly difficult, acknowledging the disruption caused to fans who had already made plans around the original dates.
As a thank you for their continued support, Northlane have released “Deathwish” ahead of schedule.
The new single serves as a companion to their previous track “Crucified”, exploring selfishness and the consequences of refusing to acknowledge the needs of others.
Speaking about the song, vocalist Marcus Bridge explained:
“It’s a companion song to ‘Crucified,’ but where that song surveys the landscape, ‘Deathwish’ zooms in on the individual.”
Despite the changes, Northlane have reassured fans that their upcoming UK and European tour supporting Dayseeker will proceed as planned, alongside their North American headline tour scheduled for early 2027.
The band’s Melbourne album listening party has also been rescheduled to November 20th, with existing tickets remaining valid.

Anemoia will now arrive on November 27th, while “Deathwish” is available to stream and watch now.
