Currents have officially signed with Rise Records and announced their fourth studio album, Our Fates Lie in Tandem, arriving February 12, 2027. The Connecticut metalcore band have also released their brand new single, ‘Retributioner’, alongside an official music video.
The upcoming 11-track record marks the band’s first full-length release since 2023’s The Death We Seek and what frontman Brian Wille describes as their most personal material to date.
“I brought the wall down, so I could be more personal than ever before,” Wille explains. “Our Fates Lie in Tandem is not heavy for the sake of being heavy either. We agreed a track doesn’t need to be ‘a walking breakdown’ in order to make an impact.”
The newly released ‘Retributioner’ tackles the pressure to abandon personal values in pursuit of success, questioning a society where getting ahead often comes at the expense of others.

The album has been produced by guitarist Chris Wiseman, with additional production from Ice Nine Kills guitarist Ricky Armellino and mixing by Jon Dolese.
Speaking about their new partnership, the band shared their excitement about joining Rise Records, describing the label’s legacy as having influenced them throughout their musical careers.
The announcement comes just days before Currents begin their co-headlining European and UK tour with ERRA on November 2, with support from Caskets and Aviana. UK dates include Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Wolverhampton and London.
Our Fates Lie in Tandem arrives February 12, 2027, with pre-orders available now. ‘Retributioner’ and its accompanying music video are out now.
