The first official teaser for Mittens, the upcoming independent horror film starring Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn, has been released, giving fans their first proper look at the project.
Written and directed by Louis Rocky Bacigalupo, the film blends supernatural horror with dark comedy and features Quinn as Country Stuart, the seemingly friendly presenter of a children’s television programme called Country Stuart’s Fun Fun House. Behind his colourful personality lies something far more sinister.
The story follows Alice (Arina Bacigalupo), who developed an attachment to a stuffed cat named Mittens while watching Stuart’s programme as a child. Thirty years later, Alice is fighting for custody of her stepdaughter Kat (Zoe Hudson Travers) when Mittens unexpectedly returns, forcing her to confront disturbing memories from her childhood.
The cast also includes Hey Monday vocalist Cassadee Pope and Bridget Rose Perrotta, bringing together familiar faces from the alternative music scene and independent horror.
The teaser follows the film’s unusual promotional campaign, which included an official poster featuring a working telephone number for Country Stuart. Fans can call the number, hear from Quinn’s character and leave a voicemail.
Mittens is scheduled for an exclusive screening on October 28th at Unlimited Studios in Long Branch, New Jersey, as part of the Premier Fear Halloween event. A Q&A with the filmmakers will follow the screening!
