A Skylit Drive have signed with Vaux Records, the independent label founded by Rise Records creator Craig Ericson, and kicked off the partnership with new single “Half Hearted”.
The track is also the first taste of Ashes, A Skylit Drive’s new full length album, which is currently in production and expected to arrive in early 2027.
For the record, the band have been working with co-writer and producer Ryan Furlott alongside Joey Sturgis, whose credits include Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men and The Devil Wears Prada.
Michael Jagmin says “Half Hearted” became an important turning point while creating the album.
“‘Half Hearted’ quickly became a defining song for this album,” he explains. “It marked the beginning of working with co-writer and producer Ryan Furlott and opened the door to a side of ourselves musically that we hadn’t explored before.”
Jagmin added that writing the track became “deeply cathartic”, describing the process as less like writing a song and more like confronting something within themselves.
The signing also connects A Skylit Drive with a familiar name from the post-hardcore scene. Ericson founded Rise Records in 1991, with the label later becoming home to a huge number of bands across post-hardcore, metalcore and alternative music.
“Signing with Vaux Records feels like the perfect next step for us,” A Skylit Drive said. “Craig understands our history, our vision, and where we’re headed.”
A Skylit Drive returned to active recording and touring following years away, having originally built their name through records including Wires…and the Concept of Breathing, Adelphia, Identity on Fire, Rise and ASD.
“Half Hearted” is out now, with Ashes set to follow in early 2027.
