Chicago pop punk band Sincere Engineer have announced their fourth studio album Probable Claws, set for release on June 26, alongside the arrival of a brand new single, ‘Twist My Tongue’.
The track follows on from March’s release ‘Cooler’ and gives another early look at what the band have been working on since their last full-length Cheap Grills in 2023. Pre-orders for the album are live now, including exclusive vinyl variants.
Frontwoman Deanna Belos shared her excitement about the new chapter, saying: “I’m beyond excited for the new chapter of SE! We’ve done so much touring over the years and with so many bands that we adore and look up to. I can’t believe we’re on our fourth record and about to do a big headlining tour of our own to celebrate.”
She also highlighted the recording process, which took place at Electrical Audio in Chicago. “We had such a blast recording Probable Claws and it was a privilege to record it at Electrical Audio, which is an absolute dream of a studio.”
The new record leans into themes around time and growing older, something Belos says sits at the core of the album. “I think the overall theme of this record is being uncomfortable with the passing of time and how quick time passes. Not all the songs touch on that, there’s some songs about me moving too fast through life myself.”
Across 11 tracks, Probable Claws is shaping up to be a direct and honest pop punk record, balancing straightforward, high-energy moments with some of the band’s more emotional songwriting. The album opens with ‘Twist My Tongue’ and closes on ‘Dynamite’, with standout moments including ‘Arborvitae Evergreen’, which Belos describes as a deeply personal highlight.

With new music now rolling out and a full album on the way this summer, Sincere Engineer are stepping into what looks like a defining era for the band.
